Immigration to Canada

Most doctors come out to Canada with a work permit. All you need is a region to sponsor you for a job.

Immigration Canada will not look at your application for a work permit without an official document of a health region.

We can help you with the process of getting that regional sponsorship.

Some doctors want to come out as landed immigrants from there countries. It is a process that is now taking four years to complete. As a landed immigrant you will then have much more flexibility where you can work.

We suggest that you get a work permit and work for a few years as a doctor in Canada. While in Canada you can then apply for landed immigrant status.

It takes about two years with a permanent job offer and working in Canada, to get your landed immigrant status. The last point is applicable if there are no other reasons why they should not give it to you.

During your two years of working in Canada, you can finish all your exams. With all your exams done and with a landed immigrant status, then you can now much easier move in Canada to places where you want to work. That will only be true if the place that you start of is not what you had in mind.
